Photovoltaic (PV) panels turn light into electricity, which can be used for remote power, camper vans, electric fences, street signs etc. or for providing household electricity using a grid tied inverter. This used to be prohibitively expensive, but mass production techniques have brought the price of PV panels to a point where they are beginning to make sense as energy costs rise, particularly for
- Urban dwellers where wind turbines are simply not an option
- Camper Vans, caravans, yachts, or any other situation where remote power is required
- Electric fences for remote farm locations, where a small PV and battery can provide all the electricity required to keep a powerful fencer working 24/7
We provide both monocrystalline and polycrystalline PV panels in sizes from 85 watt to 235watt.
Our panels come from a high quality Chinese manufacturing plant and offer;
- Full certification from TUV
- MCS certification for the UK market on larger modules
- Production warranty of 90% power for 10 years, and 80% power for 25 years,
- Power warranty backed up by insurance with Chubbs insurance.
- Full ten year manufacture warranty
- Production guaranteed to be within 3% of spec.
This is as good a warranty as you can get, but importing directly from the factory means we can offer PVs at prices that simply cannot be beaten
The following sizes are available;
85W Monocrystalline Module. A budget panel for leisure use, cattle fencing on farms, and other remote low power requirements. The voltage range is ideal for 12V battery systems. Please download data sheet by clicking here.
150W Monocrystalline Module. A mid-range panel for leisure use. This is the largest module on offer suitable for 12V batteries without an MPPT charge controller (or wired in series for higher voltages). Please download the data sheet by clicking here.
235W Polycrystalline Module. Ideal for large power requirements, and for off-grid living. This module is optimised for charging battery systems of 24V or 48V in pairs. Please download the data sheet by clicking here.
Please note that all of these modules come packed two per box, so we can only sell them in pairs. If you require a single panel, it would need to be collected from our depot near Cork.
Grid Tie Inverters
We are able to offer competitive prices on SMA grid tied inverters for connecting your solar PV modules to the grid. With these, you can avail of the feed-in tariff for any power you export to the grid.
MPPT Charge Controllers
For off-grid (battery) use of solar PV panels, we recommend the use of MPPT charge controllers. These can optimise the output of solar panels when used for charging batteries. You will find an explanation of how MPPT controllers work by clicking here.
Prices
Solar PV panels can be collected from our depots in Dublin or Cork. Prices are as follows;
85W – €183.50 incl. VAT
150W – €322.00 incl. VAT
235W – €387.00 incl. VAT.
The panels can be collected as single items, but are boxed in pairs. Shipping within Ireland is an additional €15 per pair of panels for up to 150W, and €40 for 235W. Shipping to UK is €25 for up to 150W. We would need to quote for shipping larger panels to the UK.
